Review: Civil War on Sunday was a very inspiring book. It made me proud how the brave soldiers from the Union fought to stop slavery. My favorite character was this man in one of the field hospitals his name was unknown though. This man was an African American slave. His wife and daughter were taken away and sold so he ran away from his owner because he heard that the Confederates were going to attack the Union, so he ran 30 miles to tell them. This man is my favorite character because he was very brave to do that. This book made me feel lucky and grateful that Canada didn’t have slavery back then or my family and a lot of other families may have been slaves now. This book took place in Virginia.
