Review of “Moonlight on the Magic Flute”, written by Mary Pope Osborne

Reviewed by: Shadida
Review: This book was about two kids named Jack and Annie, who find a magic tree house in the woods. They soon find out that it belong to a secret librarian named Morgan Le Fay. The tree house could bring them to different times in history. On this adventure they have to help a great artist go on the path to sharing his talents with the whole world. They bring a magic flute that they can use in their darkest hour, but the flute could only be used once. Annie is my favourite character in this book. When I was reading this book I felt like I was watching a 3D movie. I think this series is my favourite series of books to read. I hope you enjoy them too.

Review: Serena van der Woodsen just arrived back from boarding school and there are nasty rumours going around about her. Her old best friend Blair won’t even talk to her and everyone hates her now. Except Dan Humpherey. Dan has always admired Serena, and Dan’s friend Vanessa was going to make a movie. Ironically Dan was the lead male and Serena wanted to be the lead but Vanessa chose this other girl instead, even though Serena was better. The truth was, Vanessa didn’t just want to see Dan drool over Serena. Blair was holding this ball, and Serena was invited but didn’t want to go. So, she hung out with Vanessa and Dan. When Dan has to go save his little sister from the ball, Serena goes with him. Will they get together? Read the book to find out! The TV show Gossip girl is based on the books, and I have watched a couple episodes and it is nothing like the book. Basically, the only thing that is the same is the characters. But this was a great book!

Review of “Trapped in Ice”, written by Eric Walters

Review: One trapped ship. Two children. The unforgiving Arctic. Helen Kiruk, her little brother Michael, and her mother, the seamstress, are part of the Canadian Arctic Expedition that starts in 1913. They set sail on the Karluk, a ship that is hardly fit for the frigid temperatures and freezing waters. Caught in an early freeze up, the ship is trapped in ice. For Helen, her family, and the crew of the ship, the voyage has come to an end. There is no way out of the ice, and the Karluk is bound to sink. As the ship becomes weaker and weaker, it is obvious that everyone will have to abandon the Karluk. Out on the ice, with spring coming quickly and the melting of the very ice that is keeping everyone afloat, a harrowing journey to land is the only thing left that may keep Helen and her friends from perishing on the ice.

Review: This book is about two friends Claire and Delia who are watching a movie that was shot in an old mansion which people said it was haunted, and the film was never finished because in the movie the real stars got killed by objects in the house. So since Claire’s dad is film director he decided to remake the movie since it was never finished. When they arrive at the mansion they meet one of caretakers there who tells them to leave. So then Claire wonders if those things that happened to the stars was just a coincidence, or was the house really haunted? This book made me scared because I never knew a house could be able to kill people. My favorite character would have to be Claire because shes really curious.
